JFKerry is his own worst enemy. The fact that he scammed his medals, tossed them, and then lie in a Senate hearing, somehow got a signature and sanitized citation from the Secretary of Navy 18 + years after the fact, demonstrates the guy is mentally distressed.

The idea that anyone who served in Vietnam would plot and plan for the future to film "reenactments" of supposed gun fights and then spend the next 35 years replaying them over and over and over again is not exactly of a "sane" mind.
