Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?
I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?
Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

As for the Kerry campaign -- as one Democratic strategist surveying the the last three weeks said, they have gone from "delusion obliviousness straight to panic. Not even a pause at anywhere constructive."
Just see what a group will minimal funding and willing to tell the truth and stand by it can do
Absolutely amazing what grass roots people who aren't political hacks and actually stand for something can accomplish by shinning the light of truth on matters
The democrats worst nightmare -- the SBVETS

"The President spoke somewhere around 9:45 or so. Maybe the same time?" That would not be a smart move on Kerry's part. Of course, he's not known for his smart moves. If John F'n speaks at the same time as the president, who do you think most vets will want to listen to? Of course, that'd be classic, putting Kerry on ice and telling him to STFU while they watched the president on a big screen. I think Kerry would have his Howard Dean moment right then and there.

Agreed. Mara Liason, noted DEM lover on FNC, said the exact same thing. President Bush has been trumpeting the war on terror and defeating terrorists for the past four years. One misplaced phrase will not resonate with the American public. They know Bush has the resolve to defeat terrorists.

I just heard GHWB on Imus saying that the VFW endorsed Clinton in 92....they chose a draft-dodger over a decorated WW11 vet!

The MSM will faithfully report that Kerry has used this speech to turn the corner on the Swift Boat Vets. There will be a chorus of phrases that will sound resoundingly similar where all news analysts and editorials will agree that Kerry has answered the accusations and now received the veteran support he deserves so that he can campaign on the real issues like interest rates charged on credit cards.
Don't think so
I think they are beginning to perceive him as Dead Meat , knowing there are more ads promised down the line from the SBVETS
Wouldn't be surprised if they don't start rumors of a ticket replacement

Y'all gonna be following this? Is it today or tonight? If it's today, will someone please keep me updated? I gotta a lot to do at work today so I might not have much time to peek in if it's during the day. I also saw a post last night saying that John F'n would have a quick response to the president's speech. I can't bear to watch him. I hope the details of that one will be posted as well. I want to see this jackass's complete meltdown.

THere was no war on then and vets are like everybody else when it comes to $$$$$
Country was sold a bill of goods about the recession ( that was already over for 6 months) My 40 year old nephew with 3 kids and an Air Force pilot at the time also voted for Clinton in 92 . I almost disowned him ( also my godchild)
He saw the light after 6 months but I still bust his butt over it

Just this morning I tried IMUS in desperation and there was former President Bush with a hilarious interview and IMUS admitting he's leaning towards Dubya!!

I heard 41 say that also. That was a really good interview. 41 seemed so quick on his feet and his sense of humor was in fine tune.

Thanks...I'll see part of it before I have to leave the house. Although I can't stand to listen to him speak (fingernails on a chalkboard type of thing), I will endure and follow this thread closely.

I mispoke in my earlier post. The American Legion is said to be non-partisan......True anyone?

Thanks. What time zone? I think Nashville is Central Time.

Bro in law and sis in law voted for bubba cause they thought there would get free health care.
I argued and pleaded with them to no avail. Never mind that their nephew, my son, was going into the army for four years.
They wanted free health care and my son served under X42............
They're repubs now but the damange to the country and the world can never be undone.

I think it would play right into the media's hand if the Legionaires BOO him. MediaCrats will then have license to depict the audience as partisan, ala the Swiftees.
The better approach would be to stay firmly seated, arms crossed, with a "show me" expression on their faces. Polite applause any time he mentions the valor of our armed services. Total silence when he addresses his own exploits and anti-war activites---no applause, no booing...no reaction at all.
It would be bee-U-T-ful!

I called Opryland Hotel. The receptionist confirmed my belief that they are in Central Time. She also said that the Senator is speaking at 11:00 CT, which would be noon ET.
Can we modify the thread title to say 12 noon ET?

The tragic events in Israel and Russia prove once again that this is a war that must be fought.
The economy, health care, and all other issues pale when it comes to the safety of our families.
The speakers thus far have made that point unequivocally.
