Thanks for the info. I was asking her today if her nebulizer could also run on batteries. I was pretty sure they must have one. She also uses a concentrator for oxygen, but has a small tank for temporary emergencies.

Without electricity the elderly really suffer because of the heat too.

We're very satisfied with the place she was evacuated to during Charley. It was a lovely complex in Sarasota, and she thought the food was better there than at her residence's dining room. Because of that, I think she's looking forward to possibly having to go down there again, LOL!

I bought my nebulizer on ebay for $50, so the expense isn't too bad.

I've cut and pasted some info from this thread and will be calling my dad again this afternoon. He cares for his wife (alzheimers) and during Charley she was having a very hard time. A neighbor let him use his generator so the contents of dad's freezer wouldn't go bad. Still alot of trees down in his area too.

Where area are you in, dawn?
