True. And as Richmond learned with Gaston, slow or not moving is a big problem. Richmond got 12 inches of rain in 3-4 hours because of Gaston deciding to stay a while.

Anyone with any kind of knowledge will tell you that a slow moving hurricane can result in the most deaths and damage in the immediate impact zone of the eye wall. We are talking about 24 hours in land...that is over 15 hrs of Hurricane force winds..then another 4-6 in tropical storm force in the path.
