You are correct. They didn't go away. They changed their philosophy. After realizing that capturing land is no longer a viable option to run an ideology, they changed their philosphy to reflect modern day techniques.
The new Communist armies are the useful idiots and the media. Once enough people are converted and OUR government becomes leftist you will see the UN play the role of President of the world. This will lead to two things:
1. The final battle. This will be world communism vs. World islam.
2. A potential nuclear showdown.
America is the prize. Whowever controls America controls the world. However in order to control America, one thing must happen. That is the second amendment gets repealed. This is the reason the left and the UN wants us disarmed. As long as Americans are allowed to have weapons based on our constitutional rights, no one is going to mess with us.
