The RNC overplayed their hand putting those two up there between two genuinely big names. The Sex-in-the-City mocking of Grandma can put off a lot of middle-americans. That show is slutty trash and most Bush voters reject it. To throw it in Barbara's face was in essence throwing it in all our faces. These supposedly adult girls gave a speech fit for a precocious, bratty 14 year old. The Stupid Party strikes again...

Let's just hope that it wasn't because of the godawful Bush Twins speech, with traders thinking that anybody who'd allow that stinker of a speech up there doesn't know what they're doing.

Get real. No one watched the Bush daughters speech. I turned the volume down and proceeded to hop on the phone to discuss the Arnie's speech.

The Bush Daughters effect, if there really is one, will disappear by the end of the convention. Bigger fish to fry, as they say.

Anyone who thinks the CUTE Bush daughter's silly speech will effect even one single vote should head on back to DU. :)

"godawful Bush twins speech"

Give me an f'n break. That is an irrelevant twenty minutes at the RNC. That would not have any effect on the campaign much less a 10 point swing. Even if you don't like the girls' sensibilities don't blow things out of proportion.

Geez!

I think they got their positives and negatives screwed up. Happens all the time, or maybe some nimrod accidental got the data mixed up.

I just can't see this as being a realistic chart of what is going on right now.

Our stock in the "Congressional Control" market is literally shooting through the roof however.

How deep is this "market"? Are the stats on volume and contract size available? How is a trade actually conducted and administered?

Is it possible that just a few trades can move the market?

Something's amiss here. Tradesports is trading normally and the current quotes for the IEM are showing the old 7.5% Bush lead. Kinda weird.

I doubt this has anything to do with the Bush twins' speech. It more likely reflects confidence by the Democrats in John Kerry's new Clintonista campaign team. They probably think Joe Lockhardt will do wonders for Kerry.

I'm sure you are right. This was profit taking. The figures are back where they were before. At 1.30 CST last quotes were
0.455 for Kerry 0.540 for Bush (average 0.469 to 0.544).

So no "twin effect".
