Poorly written, poorly delivered. Oh well, it won't affect anything.
Plus, the twins are utterly charming. They love their daddy, that's for certain. I'm glad they're on the campaign trail.
I do think they were disrespectful ,but is it true that what they say is written for them I'm I right or wrong?
No, but the way the speech was written, it could have been interpreted as one girl speaking for the other. I was just trying to get my own mind straight. Especially since I have to admit I couldn't really see Jenna as a Yalie, but something in the back of my mind kept telling me it was her anyway.
You are right!
Well, if this such a big deal that it is going to do us major damage. We didn't have much of a chance anyway. The twins are HoT the Kerry girls are Not. They aren't running for anything.
I agree. Especially when you consider they are Yale graduates and nearly 23 years of age.
You've GOT to be kidding?
ouch
Yeah, they were giggly cute up until then. That's when I felt like muting. Does it affect GB? Nah, but he might want to do some line item vetoing , next time :')
The difference is AUDIO, the typist left out all the cackling, guffaws and giggles they made. It was pathetic to listen to.
After all! We are talking about two young girls, whom most of us have never heard them speak in public before tonight. I'm an old man and I don't think I could of done any better than they did. I would bet the rent that nobody here would either :-)
I actually took it as mocking the Kerrys not their dad.
Yep, no extended fallout at all, but the FR 'Charming, Wonderful' crowd just shows to go you that many folks around here are just downright judgment impaired.
If the Kerry ladies fell that flat they would be all over them.
To me, it was clear that they were out there too long and the air was let out when they dissed their granny. I could tell the folks at the convention didn't care for it.
Not to rain on a parade, but Jenna & Barbara were mediocre at best. It's water under the bridge, but I feel their time onstage could have been spent much more effectively. They're just kids, but they should have been put up there with MUCH better material scrolling on the teleprompters.
"Dad's last campaign....we need something to do for four years, Dad too....not that hip....lame Karl, Condi, Andy, & Dick jokes....etc., etc."
Not worth sweating, but they should be maintained in non-speaking roles for the rest of the campaign. The only exception should be if the discussions are specifically aimed at voters in the 18-24 years of age category.

I expected 23 year old adults, perhaps taking turns telling us why they are proud of their parents, especially their father.
Yes! Wasn't THAT a hoot! lol
"I would be embarassed if I raised children like that.
.... I agree. Especially when you consider they are Yale graduates and nearly 23 years of age."
If one of my kids (including my own twin girls!) becomes a graduate of a highly rated college like Yale I wouldn't be embarassed. (I'd be pretty amazed though at how they afforded it!)
I agree with one of the punsters though - the guy who wrote the speech will be working in the hinterlands from now on. I can just imagine some old guy trying to act "hip" and "groovy" going over the material resources. And Laura no doubt had heard it before and gave it the okay.
Stating my opinion that I believe someone's actions to be disrespectful are "vicious attacks"?
I post here & only here, check my history.
I thought I heard today that they wrote it themselves:')
Supposedly on the front of wp.
