NYPD BRACES FOR "CIVIL DISOBEDIANCE" TODAY

NEW YORK Police are bracing for a day of civil disobedience today after an ugly confrontation yesterday between Republican National Convention protesters and police.

A march from the United Nations to Madison Square Garden ended in violence after a protester attacked a plainclothes detective, knocking him unconscious and leaving him hospitalized.

Hundreds of police in riot gear swarmed the area, pushing protesters away from the Garden and into nearby side streets.

Police are preparing for further confrontation today as protesters promised to demonstrate wherever delegates and party heavyweights were celebrating and sightseeing.

In the months leading up to the convention, activists designated Tuesday an official day of civil disobedience, planning sit-ins, street theater and even vandalism aimed at the offices of corporations with links to the Bush family or Republicans.

They plan to start early in the day by harassing Republicans at a breakfast at the Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park.

Monday's confrontation capped an otherwise peaceful day of small demonstrations focusing on health care, civil rights, homelessness and other areas where protesters say President Bush and Republicans have failed the country.

The detective who was attacked, William Sample, was briefly knocked unconscious and was hospitalized with head injuries not deemed life-threatening.

His assailant, who escaped, was being sought by police.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly called it ``a blatant, vicious attack.''

I noticed police presence is alot stronger today than yesterday. I have been reading and heard on the radio that today the anarchists are going to be out in full force.

This ought to be fun! NYPD is going to get a little 'PAYBACK' for those jerks who beat that detective.

At some point, it might not be a bad idea to take "active measures" against the so-called anarchists. Set up a team, pick them out, pull down their stupid face-babushkas, and snap digital pics to be posted on a website.

The Leftists are feeling desperate now. After last night's speeches they are beginning to see the writing on the wall. They feel they have nothing to lose now so they might as well lash out.

I hope the NYC police use the necessary force to protect themselves and others.

I was listening to Savage yesterday and he said that a rap artist ran into a group of demonstrators with his SUV the other day.
Supposedly it was when the gay activists on bicycles were blocking an intersection.
I am dying to know who it was.
He ran over their little bicycles and everything...LOL.

If they threaten the life of a New York City police officer, I hope the NYPD does not hesitate to use whatever force is necessary to take them out.

It amazes me that those idiots (anarchists) wearing babushkas are not detained before they start their illegal activities. Legitimate civil protest does not require the hidden identity.

I heard it was raining today in NYC. That usually discourages
protesters. Here in GA, rain usually guarantees a light DEM turnout.
