"If you read enough of The Holy Bible (not "my" Bible) you will see that from the time of Moses and throughout, as a people, the Jews continually pissed God off and were punished by slavery and worse. Jerusalem was destroyed and the Jews suffered greatly because they would not stop worshiping false idols and ignoring the Word of God. Prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah talk of the future glory in store for them, but if you read enough you also discover the punishment that is on the way. How about being enslaved by Babylon? Don't be so "Democratic" by finding a verse or two that need to be left out of the context of the big picture to "prove" a point."
You have a great post here, and since so many of we Christians, are ignorant in the original Hebrew may we could start a Bible study starting in Genesis that would teach us what was actually written in the original Hebrew.
The "problem" is that the majority of the Jewish vote is located in states liek NY and Cal where it won't make a difference if W got 100% of the Jewish vote...I'm note sure if it even works in Florida, where most of the Jewish vote is elderly...too old to change. It may have an impact in Ohio (Cleveland) and Pa..where the races will be close,a nd a few thousand vote swing could tip the balance..
The reform Jews of my acquaintance are democrats and liberals because they have bought into the politically correct coalition that unites groups who somehow believe they were kept from the full access of American society. (The Jews could not join certain clubs or work in certain jobs. Like the blacks who were denied access to white areas.) While these conditions have largely changed for the better, some vestiges of them remain and are enough to keep the Jews in the democrat camp. The current reform mascot is the homosexual cause. Jewish parents teach their kids that the democrats can do no wrong and republicans can do no right. That all forms of discrimination are wrong, and are manifest in the republican party and the Boy Scouts. This lasts until the Jew does some thinking for themselves. Reform Rabbis come from the same democrat background and drink the kool-aid in rabbinical school, so they watch over their flock and discourage sponsorship of Boy Scout Troops etc. I don't know how long it will take for this to change, but it is changing. I just wanted to point out that it is more than just the socialist ideal that Jews take to, they really believe the PC-Multicultural cr*p handed down by the democratic party.
There are plenty in L.A. and NYC. But don't let that get in the way of your pathetic views.
Years ago the New York Public School System was one of the best in the country. Many of the instructors were Jews who would have been qualified to teach in senior university positions, but were barred employment. Most of them had fled Europe during the persecution of the Jews by Hitler and others. They are, for good reason, fearful of discrimination. Some are beginning to realize that postmodernism cannot deal with the concept of an enemy who will not seek a common ground. They are also beginning to realize that the conservative Christian movement is one of Israel's greatest supporters. This is quite a paradigm shift for many of them. Bush is making inroads into the Hispanic, Jewish and Black communities. This is frightening to Democrats, as if they lose their advantage with these groups, all they'll have left are the dead votes.
Well said. Besides engineering, I also taught in public school. The Jewish students were often the brightest, but still strangely clinging to their democratic philosophy. I have joined the Republican Jewish Coalition and recommend it to other Jews on this forum. Cheers and Shalom.
"You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. Yochannan [John] 4:22"
I do not mind that you choose not to respond, however, what is the subject here.
This word "Jews" is specific to country or those of the House of Judah, of which Christ came through. (Yes, and as it is also written from Levi the priest tribe)
Now IIKings 17:22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of His sight, as He had said by all His servants the prophets. (Isa. 7&8) So Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
24. And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cutnah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
Now to keep with the subject of what is being discussed one need start with John 4:1.
Israel the House of Israel was taken captive, those 10 tribes, those "lost sheep" that Christ instructed his disciples to go to were not in Judea during Christ's time. Those "Jews" were of the House of Judah, that were sent captive to Babylon, of the tribe of Judah and Benjamin.
The two Houses of Israel and Judah have not yet been rejoined and as it is written that will not take place until the true Christ returns.
Reminds me of the saying that they live like Episcopalians and vote like Bolsheviks.
It came from political pundits of long ago. I am not exactly sure of the source because I read it at least 20 years ago.

Someone said that Jews live like Episcopalians and vote like Puerto Ricans. Hopefully this will change.
