I think Chris was encouraging something like this by inviting spectators to cheer for their side and hold up signs. This was a "made for tv" moment just waiting to happen.

It's still not normal. Someone said Chris had just said a short while before how the protesters were being peaceful. That is a flat out lie and he got a wee taste of their thuggish nature.
