I mentioned to the wife (about the Twins)..
We don't get it, since we're 40+.
The appeal (if you can call it that) was clearly targeted toward the 18 - 25 crowd.
But I still think the whole schtick was PAINFUL and INAPPROPRIATE. I mean..Sex and the City? C'MON!!
And this following "The Governator" knocking the cover off the ball..
Karl Rove messed up on this one, IMHO. I'll bet $$s we see BIG coverage of the Twins tomorrow on NBC, CBS, etc.
Watch out. For daring to say the twins were not perfect, be prepared to be told:
1) You're a fuddy duddy.
2) You're just not cool.
3) You need a nap, or old age medicine
4) You belong at DU.

You're right, you don't get it. The twins were normal 21 year old girls, in striking contrast to the freaked out pompous pratricians that Kerry calls daughters. Therefore normal people will like them, and vote for their dad. This convention isn't targeting the bourbon-sipping ideologues.
Ah, they were in NY and like it or not, "Sex in the City" was very popular if stupid. Heck, I watched it every week just for the fun of it!
AND that they started off by saying Barbra, their grandmother, didn't know what it meant.
It was creepy.
