I can't imagine why..
Fred Barnes says the Bush communications team is clumsy in handling events.
[I've been saying that for months. GWB needs to fire the bunch and get some professionals.]
Senator Sam Brownback (KS).. Will Abortion be a topic tonight?
Mass arrests on that Herald square cam..
good for high bond. Hope he cant post it & his parents tell him to stop calling (guessing he is young, but maybe not).. his wife will give him same message?
Good evening everyone!
Am listening to them on their site. 20-25 busloads of policemen are heading to Herald Square.
Are you serious? Barnes (and you) believe this, after the single most successful convention opening night in 40 years?
President Bush said today that he would be welcoming Laura to the Convention tonight remotely from Gettysburg. So, we'll see the President tonight on screen, should be a good moment probably 10:30-10:45 timeframe.
They are being locked in vans with no windows. Poor wittle bittle thingys.
What's happeneing? My audio keeps cutting out..
If only Michael Moore could be locked in there with them.
I thought they were locking hands and blocking the streets..
Well the policemen have told some to move but they lay down in the street. Did you see my post about the 20-25 busloads of policemen? Some nut is criticising Fox and the Republicans for what has happened after 9-11. She was in a paddy wagon and was questioned. Said the media has misinformed the public about what is going on up there. One is on 28th and Broadway. Headed toward MSG. 32 and 6th a large gathering. Held in pens.
That was earlier. Some are being arrested for blocking sidewalks.
Barnes wasn't talking about the Convention. He was talking about responses and the Bush teams failure to mount effective responses to situations and allegations. He even went as far to say that the WH mouthpiece (McClellan) appears timid and afraid of the press.
That is not a good picture. The Bush 'we can't win the war on terrorism' comment was actually taped Saturday. So they should have known. It aired Monday morning--and the Dems jumped on it immediately. The Bush team didn't respond until Monday afternoon. Result--damage already done. [This is just one example of poor PR.]
Remember back when the Clinton team would be spinning all over the media immediately after, in some cases during, bad news breaking. They headed off bad news every effectively.
They are making a difference.
I heard the same thing, large group at 32 and 6th..
