06:16 PM War Resisters League is heading north on 5th Avenue toward Madison Square Garden. 250 people are in the march.
06:15 PM There are already 500 police at the library and apparently more are on the way. Nets have been pulled out.
06:11 PM There is a call for red balloons to meet at Herald Sq. at 7pm and to look for big red baloon. Think 99.
06:11 PM People from the bike bloc are being arrested at 40th and Broadway. The crowd which was at the library is being pushed down 40th. 15-20 arrests reported so far with an "absolutely obnoxious police presence."
06:08 PM At 7PM, protesters will attempt to reconvene at Madison Square Garden, 34th and 7th.

05:53 PM 150-200 demonstrators left from Union Sq. and are at 30th and Broadway, heading to Madison Sq.Garden. There are about 20 cops in riot gear, getting batons ready at a park nearby.
05:50 PM Attempted banner drop at NY Public Library has resulted in arrests.

Cops are ready to pull out the nets on the 500 folks without a permit at the NYC Library.
I am putting the NYT front page on this post, because I so looking at 2 men that I respect and on a paper that has such a bias that I did not think I would see these anytime soon.

I saw him decades ago when I lived a summer at Hyannis port... Small club setting. Didn't really know who he was at that time.. but recall loving his calm easy style & music. I have a few of his CD's now.
I don't like the large arena type live shows now.. My mom tells about seeing Frank Sanatra here in Clevlend area at Big Band dances.. he was 19 year old skinny, relatively unknown..
all these things change & our good memories of the past encounters are to be treasured
