I just don't think this ad is going to connect in the same way the earlier ones did. This will probably be the smallest ad buy they make.

This ad is timed to coincide with Kerry's address to the American Legion on Wednesday. It's running in Florida, there's a nationwide cable buy -- and a special buy in Nashville, where the Legion convention is being held.

That explains it. I don't think this issue has much emotional appeal to most people in America (not because we don't care about medals, but because we haven't earned any, so we don't feel like we should be criticizing people who have). But veterans have earned the medals--and in many cases paid for them in blood--and they will probably not be so tolerant of Kerry's behavior. And their reaction to Kerry will be very imporant to how other Americans view Kerry's military service.

How is this effective? The one with his testimony is VERY damaging. How does this hurt Kerry?

There is a cumulative effect that all his dissing of the military and the country has. And you have to understand that they don't have the millions it would take to run a commercial on every station in the country every hour through the election. But they don't have to. Your favorite ad and all the others will be repeated endlessly on talk radio and other media for free.

Kerry doesn't care about anything except for himself. I don't even think he was that concerned about the peace movement back in the 70's - he just saw it as an opportunity.

The more and more he is exposed as an opportunist of the worst order, the more people are going to turn away from him. Most traitors are opportunists for either financial or political gain.

The Swiftvet ads are like jackhammers. They hit harder and harder with each succeeding ad. I'm just kidding, but did Lee Atwater rise from the dead and start coordinating this? I think these ads are all the more devastating because these guys really know Kerry. They're introducing him to the public at large, something the DNC really didn't (or didn't care to do) do.

Politics can be dissapointing, but I expect there will be a significant bounce for the president after the convention if it continues in same vein as Guiliani's speech. Kerry's assumption that it was his election comes from the 24 years of virtual no opposition in Massachusetts politics. Yes, Senator Kerry this is fly over country.

I can't see the video, I must be having a problem with my plugins, but it's at the above link.

The webmaster at HumanEvents is a moron. Any idiot knows that good websites are designed with backwards compatibility. I hate websites that require the latest plugins.

The SwiftVets website has FOUR different formats for their video clips, and I'm sure you could view their ads, with one of those formats, on almost any computer.

Unfortunately, they have not posted ad #4 on their site as of early this morning.

Last night McCain said in his speech to the convention, "Kerry earned the right", (because of his service), "to use his military record". True. But the Swift Boat Vets also earned the same right to protest Kerry actions during the war, and his antiwar activities at home after the war.

However, Kerry did not and never will have earned the right to lie and falsify military records about his service to the country.

Evidently, he learned the value of preparation very well. You can lose many many times, if you can survive to prepare for the last go-round. And why would it be the last? Because you've learned from failure, whereas your opponent has only enjoyed victory and victory is a poor educator. But this is true only for those who face up to their failures and learn from them -- not an easy thing -- the fuller the admittal of one's failings, the greater the mortification one experiences, the humbling. And Humility -- there's the greatest teacher.

Humility is not a quality Kerry is known for. His attitude is others are there to make life easier for him. He'll never take responsibility for his own shortcomings.

I'm watching Fox & Friends and have seen the second SwiftVet ad (with Kerry's 1971 testimony about war crimes and narration by POWs) twice. I presume this is a national cable buy, because they really don't need to advertise in the non-battleground state of Mississippi.

I like the ad, but I think the POWs testimony is far more devastating.

This ad might assuage the Viet Nam vets, but the idea should be to defeat Kerry, and the way to do that is paint the picture of exactly who this guy is.

HE CAN"T BE TRUSTED TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS.

Anger is easy to instill in people, but anger is not a voting issue for most normal people. TRUST IS.

Just the same I am sending in another contribution.

You're welcome.

My Media Player did not open when I clicked on the Swifty page that starts the ad automatically. I figured other people were having the same problem like the FairOpinion did. So I found the source path to the Media Player file.

he does not say he lied, which he did, nor does he apologize. How can one properly frame the denunciations of ones comrades in arms as modern day Genghis Khans?
