The point is that Kerry did the same as Bush, he volunteered for the Reserves there is a strong similarity there. The only difference is that Kerry got sent, Bush didn't.
The Dems like to paint Kerry as a brave hero who volunteered for the Navy while Bush cowered in the reserves, but the truth is they accepted similar obligations.

Yes, your major point is correct.
The whole Demonrat attack on Bush is bogus. Totally bogus and typical Demonrat slime. To attack Pres Bush for entering and serving in the National Guard is just outrageous. Hopefully it will anger the many people who did serve in the National Guard and cause a backlash against J F'n Kerry.
I just don't think we get very far by trying to make an issue of Kerry in the Reserves angle. It is sort of like someone saying something crazy like: "your mother wears combat boots"; and then coming back and saying: "No, your mother wears combat boots".
