Kerry Would Offer Special Iran Deal (allowing them to keep nuclear power plants), Says Edwards

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - If elected U.S. president, Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) would offer Iran a deal allowing it to keep its nuclear power plants if it gave up the right to retain bomb-making nuclear fuel, said Kerry's vice presidential running mate in an interview published on Monday.

Sen. John Edwards (news - web sites) told The Washington Post if Iran did not accept this "great bargain," this would confirm the Islamic state was building nuclear weapons under cover of a nuclear power initiative.

If Iran rejected this proposal, Kerry would ensure European allies were prepared to join the United States in imposing strict sanctions against Iran, said Edwards.

I am sure the Mullahs are trembling over Kerry's sanctions.

Just as N. Korea promised everything to Clinton, then went right ahead to develop nukes.

Didn't the Clintonistas along with Jimma Cartier make just such a deal with North Korea?

That worked out just great, didn't it?

I thought Kerry's plan is to send the pedophile Scott Ritter to Iran to inspect for nukes so he could be bribed with children by the Iranians and no one would ever know.

There is no mistake so misguided that a Democrat can't make it twice.

I have to nominate the Democrats for the "stupid" party. They are dumb as rocks.

Yep, and the Europeans made a similar deal with Iran a few years back and the Iranians have followed a similar pattern of response.

OOOOOOO. Strict sanctions. That's what scares Islamic exteremists. These people send their kids to blow themselves up in pizza parlors in on bsues in roder to take out some Jews. The threat of sanctions is laughable. And after the sanctions have been in place for a few months, we will all be called heartless "crusaders" and all the misery in Iran will be blamed on our sanctions.

Kerry would ensure? What a joke. He has no idea what the word means.

Indeed. What happens when the people of France, fresh from selling power plant parts to the Iranians, complain that Kerry's sanctions are starving the poor, innocent school children? Can't risk offending an ally. Better just drop the whole thing and let the Mullahs have their nukes.

Deep down inside Kerry HATES AMERICA always has.....any of America's enemies will be safe under a Kerry administration....and if he hates America he also hates Israel......

Of course he will allow Iran to build nukes....and attack Israel.....if by some act of an angry God...Kerry is elected....

Israel had better strike Iran minutes after our election results are finalized....

imo

Rush was just talking about this, how Kerry and the Democrats are more concerned with world opinion than they are at protecting America.

Only if they let the U.S. re-privatize their oil fields. With all that nuclear energy, they won't have any use for all that oil anymore, will they?

Well, he's got the goofy, vacuous smile just like Carter. And now its confirmed (again) that he's got the Useful Idiocy of the him, as well.

Sure...just like Clinton and Albright let North Korea keep their nulcear power for "peaceful" purposes and we now know where that got us.

Amazing how stupid people are. But then again this is the democratic party that does not trust American citizens to own guns, but will trust the Iranians.

Why must you people spread such vicious falsehoods about Scott Ritter? He does not go to McDonald's playgrounds looking for cheap dates. He was at a Burger King looking for a girl he met on the Internet! Geez, get your facts straight. Next thing you'll be questioning the heroics of John Kerry in Korea, or was it Cambodia, or Vietnam...

Team Bush should jump all over this as typical of what this country could expect out of a Kerry administration, that is, appeasement, compromise with terrorists, abdication of sovereignty to the UN, etc..
Along with Carter's incompetency birthing and legitimizing the islamofascists and Clinton selling our technology to the communists in Beijing, Kerry would try his best to hammer the last nails in our freedom and way of life.

My 8 year old likes to say, "If Kerry was any smarter he would be a piece of wood."

My inlaws now officially hate me.

George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
