Columnist Has Ties to Anti-Kerry Book
By JACQUES STEINBERG
Published: August 30, 2004
mong the stoutest defenders of "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry," the best-selling book arguing that Mr. Kerry lied about his record of service in Vietnam, is the columnist Robert Novak.
In his syndicated columns and on the CNN program "Crossfire," Mr. Novak has lauded the book and referred to veterans who criticize Mr. Kerry - most notably John E. O'Neill, the book's co-author - as "real patriots."
Unmentioned in Mr. Novak's columns and television appearances, however, is a personal connection he has to the book: his son, Alex Novak, is the director of marketing for its publisher, the conservative publishing house Regnery.
In a telephone interview, Robert Novak said he saw no need to disclose the link.
"I don't think it's relevant," he said.
"I'm just functioning as a columnist with a point of view, and a strong point of view," he added.
Wow, this reporter must be one of the boot-lickers the Kerry campaign can trust with one of their "brown books."
Time for the NYT to add another dotted line to their little chart.
Would someone please post the photo of Michael Moore seated with Jimmy Carter at the DNC.
If the Democrats have to run with stuff this weak, they are truly desperate. But I am devoid of pity for their sorry souls.
And the New York Times has connections to Kerry.
Goodness, what will they think of next? Put this one right up there with other shockers like "George Bush's daughters shown to have close ties to the Bush campaign."
"I don't think it's relevant," he said.
If Alex Novak is living in his dad's garage and has had trouble paying the rent, this might be relevant.
But he's not. So it ain't.
It's amazing! Do they think Novak just turned conservative a few weeks ago?
But the big question is how many degrees of separation is Novak from Kevin Bacon?
WOW, they aren't even picking at straws anymore, now they are down in there picking at the little bits of chaff left over after all the straw is gone. It's so pathetic.
Laughable. I love the smell of desperation in the morning.
The Slimes is off the deep end.
By the way, Michael Moore once paid to see "Capricorn One." Therefore, his financial connection to O.J. Simpson implicates him in the murder of Nicole.
OK
Stay Strong,

Probably not but it would be a hoot is he was...
The demorats shovels must be wearing out.
This has been the biggest story for about 3 weeks, is Novak not suppsoed to talk about it?
Anyhow, Novak is an opinion columnist, not an investigative reporter. Does anybody think that he wouldn't have written about the Swift Boat Vets the way he did if his son didn't work for them? I sure don't.
