If there are any deluded souls out there who still believe George W. Bush is a conservative, I invite them to examine the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Bush is for it. That makes him a liberal. Worse, he proclaims that the amnesty is not an amnesty. So he is not only a liberal, but a liar as well.

Yah, but the good news is that since he is only president, not "premier for life", he does not get to make laws on his own!
So we must be damn sure to elect as many truly conservative members of congress as possible, in order to restrain the confused tendencies of our parties would be ruling elite.
Only 25?
You must have been at an AM-PM or Mini-Mart!
I used to install computer systems all over the world, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Italy, U.K., etc.
I never visited another country where I felt as much like a foreigner as I do right here in the U.S. any time I go to Wall-Mart!
Of course I was welcome in the countries I worked, and my host spoke English or had good interpreters. Neither of which is particularly true of the shoppers or staff at Wall-Mart.
Proper order for effectively contacting members of congress.
1. In person.
2. Letter-writing
3. Faxing
4. Phone.
5. E-mails.
The more effort you put into the contact the more weight it will carry, e-mail is the contact of last resort as it carries almost no weight.
Obviously, it is not working. The 2002 Census said there are 8.7 million illegal aliens in the US. It has estimated that 200,000 illegals enter the US through the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument every year.
The man arrested in NC 2 weeks ago filming financial institutions was an illegal alien. If al Qaeda is trying to attack this nation, they will do it by crossing our borders undetected. The Canadian border has one agent per how many thousand miles? I saw an interview the other night of a woman who sneaks into the US every day. If she is caught, she crosses again about an hour later.
The US is capable of protecting its borders. I have seen it work with about 100% effectiveness, and I have lived in it. But the inadequacies of the system are being ignored.
BTW, I am not an immigration fanatic. But as I said in the initial post, some upcoming terrorist attack will involve people who came in across our borders unimpeded, and the Republican administration will be unable to defend itself from the democRat attacks.
You all are below contempt.
If Americans failed to sound the alarm, THAT would be below contempt.
"The man arrested in NC 2 weeks ago filming financial institutions was an illegal alien."
That does not mean that he snuck across the border, the 9/11 attackers were mostly illegal aliens, but they entered the country legally.
The best way to protect ourselves against people trying to enter the country to do us harm is not by stopping them at the border, the best way is to stop them where they live.
The measure of success cannot be the number of apprehensions, but the number of successful illegal entries into the country. When I lived in Guantanamo we had very, very few apprehensions, and even fewer successful entries. But a fair number of attempts.

Sounds unworkable. How do you stop them where they live?
So, you want to measure the success by an unknown.
Tell me exactly how you know how many people you DIDN'T see crossing the border?
