If there are any deluded souls out there who still believe George W. Bush is a conservative, I invite them to examine the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Bush is for it. That makes him a liberal. Worse, he proclaims that the amnesty is not an amnesty. So he is not only a liberal, but a liar as well.

I'll be able to live with whatever the outcome, that is for sure.
But that doesn't mean I shoudln't speak my mind.
I doubt Bush will reverse any of the leftist agenda he has enacted.
That makes about as much sense as the Democrats in 1996 when they said "We need to re-elect Clinton so he can undo Welfare Reform (that he himself just signed)."
I would love to welcome legal immigrants, not illegal aliens. There is a diffrence. What makes anyone think that someone who enters the country illegally is even interested in the U. S. and honoring the rule of law, which makes this country run?
He hasn't. He can't. Bush has manuvered him out of a typical position of his and he can't agree with the President. Not now at any rate. Of course he can't come out against the President either. What would that do for him? Nothing.
This is my point on issues like this. It isnt that Bush truly believes in them. He is keeping them from Kerry. Pure politics. Kerry has been out manuvered at every turn. Sure the President might lose a voter or two (Guillermo comes to mind), but in the end, I am beginning to think a voter or two is not going to matter except for maybe Wisconsin or Iowa, but with Ohio, PA and Florida in the mix now, I would take that trade....
I agree with your post 100%. I get frustrated over the immigration issue too but there's no way Kerry will be better on it. He'll be worse, if that's possible.
At least with President Bush we should get some halfway decent court appointments. I've had to hold my nose and vote before but there's no way a Rat is getting my vote. And there's no way I won't vote at all either.
No you won't. You will be here on FR screaming and yelling about everything the Johns do...
I might just laugh at you then....right now I just think you are hysterical.....
My happiness and status in life will not be determined by who wins elections.
But, no matter what happens, I'll speak my mind.
Hispanics are the second biggest block of voters, and a fair number already vote GOP because of their personal beliefs in working hard and keeping what you earn. This is a bone to those voters, and also portends to be a boon to the party in general.
Legally or illegally, most come here to pursue the American dream. If I was a poor Mexican or Honduran or El Salvadoran living with 6 others in a cardboard box in a mudpatch I'd come here for work too if I could. Have a little empathy for the people trying to take their families out of poverty, a poverty which is nearly totally beyond their control back home, through doing hard thankless work here.
My happiness and status in life will not be determined by who wins elections.
So why are you here b!tching and moaning about the President?
nice logical argument you made there....NOT!!!
I'm speaking my mind. If you want to call it bitching and moaning, fine. I enjoy posting on FR, no matter what the topic.
Just because I'm unhappy with many of the things this President has done, does not mean that I am an unhappy person.
I refuse to let politicians determine my happiness.
You bet they are trying to get the American dream, at least the vast majority of them at any rate.
There are always a few bad apples, but you have to take the good with the bad.
What is it that is on the Statue of Liberty? ""Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."
Sounds like that doesnt count when you are hispanic or from Mexico huh?
Just because I'm unhappy with many of the things this President has done, does not mean that I am an unhappy person.
I refuse to let politicians determine my happiness.
Nice circluar arguement there. I was happy before I was unhappy. Sounds like John F'n too me....
I am able to seperate the actions of politicians from my own life. My life is not wrapped up in what they do.
I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.
HUH? Where you you been? Americans are taxed to death and beyond. There is no politician who intends to "keep the taxes low" - it's their job to rob Peter to pay Paul, and they do that consistently.
well except for The $300 the Bush Tax cut gave me, I would have been in deep doo doo due to a little pay discrepancy with my job.
That $300 saved my butt.
If you think that having someone other than President Bush in there at this time would be a good thing, you are seriously out of touch.
I dont say that because there arent better options, but the President does have the best shot out of all the options to get elected.
Yeah sure you are. That is why you are on FR. Apparently it means more to you than you are willing to admit. That's fine and go ahead and live in denial.
You are probably one of those people that wants Reagan to rise from the dead to be the President. Guess what? That isn't going to happen either. The Republican party has gone to the left, I will admit I do not like that, but in an election year, I will wait until November the 3rd to voice my disagreements with the one I want elected.
As I have said before, the Johns thank you for your upcoming support on November the 2nd. I am just going to ignore your Chicken Little posts from now on. The sky is not falling. Quit being so overly dramatic.
Like I said, I enjoy talking politics and other topics on FR.
If you choose to psychoanalyze me, go right ahead, it's no skin off my back.
the sky is falling the sky is falling Oh my God the sky is falling!!!
No, it's not, actually.
it is everytime the President does something you don't agree with.
I've been around long enough to realize that the real Republican party doesn't exist anymore. If that makes me out of touch, then so be it. Could anyone else do a better job? We'll never know. I think it's a crying shame that the Republicans couldn't come up with anyone better than Bush2. I don't agree with his liberal policies at all.
