Sunday editorial, New York Post:
KERRY'S WAR VS. KERRYFormer Navy Secretary John Leh man denied at week's end having written the Silver Star citation that appears on John Kerry's campaign Web site over Lehman's signature, dealing the Democrat's presidential campaign another stunning blow.
Which makes us wonder: Does Kerry still believe that running on his Vietnam will gain him the White House?
Kerry's Silver Star is the most prestigious of his Vietnam decorations it's the nation's third-highest for combat valor but there are at least three official versions of how he earned it.
The most recent and the one with the most florid rhetoric allegedly was signed by Lehman. But the former Navy secretary told the Chicago Sun-Times Friday: "I never saw it. I never signed it it. I never approved it."
Nevertheless, there it is on Kerry's Web site, over Lehman's signature.
It's a bewilderment, to put it mildly.

Here's your order of "bring it on", Mr. Kerry. Would you like some catsup with that?
Apparently the writers did not get word that the Swiftboat accusations have been "thoroughly discredited."
What we need now is for Lehman to get mad that his name has been dragged into this slugfest.
Lehman's press connections are as good as anyone's, given his role on the 9/11 commision. I relish the thought of his using those contacts to raise hell and demand that Kerry allow the release of all the records behind the citation's with Lehman's name on them.
This is amazing. Boy, take two days off from the news and look what I miss. Lehman is denying he wrote this? Then who did write it, and who put it over his name? And who screwed up the "V" thing? I think I heard that part before, they don't give "V"s because they would be redundant on such a medal.
Has JF'inK responded to this stuff? Is he going to be on 60 minutes (or wherever) tonight?
One more question, what's the Nation's SECOND highest award for valor? Is it the Naval Cross?
I liked this line: "Which makes us wonder: Does Kerry still believe that running on his Vietnam will gain him the White House? "
What we all have been wondering for quite some time now.
Never has the bias of network news been so apparent.
Do you think you will hear this on ABC,CBS,NBC?
Let go to the pantry and open a big can of Whup A$$.
Now........., If Kerry's silver star is fraudulent, and 2 of his purple hearts are fraudulent, and he used those to get out of Nam early, is he AWOL? AWOL for 35 years?
Arrest that man!
Well, darn. I searched to see if it had been posted, even searched for "Kerry" and it didn't come up.
Also check out this long but very informative thread.

Now if I could just condense all that to a new tag line........
Wow. This seems to be good evidence that Kerry has been lying about his war record.
I am an old Viet Nam boy. I have seen a number of Silver Star situations (at enough distance to have survived!). Kerry's stories about how he was decorated are very strange to me. The incident is not Silver Star material.
Even an officer (officer's medals are much more readily awarded than enlisted) simply would not be decorated for what Kerry describes as what happened. Simply would not happen. Simply does not happen.
Yes.
In order, it's the Medal of Honor first, followed by the (Navy, Army, and Air Force) Cross, then the Silver Star. There is no Marine Corps Cross; Marines are awarded the Navy Cross.
LOL! Uh....yes.
MSNBC SEEMS TO BE MOVING TOWARDS 24/7 COVERAGE OF THE PROTESTERS IN NEW YORK.
They barely had a word to say about the Protesters in Boston.
And contrary to what even some FREEPERS have said...there were a enough protesters in Boston to warrant coverage......if they are trying to warrant coverage of the protesters in New York.
Haven't seen much on other stations. There was a fire, anyway. That was reported. And some 200+ arrests.
If hell breaks lose, I suppose more outlets will cover it. One protest is just like all other protests. A bunch of kooks acting stupid. It gets boring after a while.
Thanks for your informative reply!
