Fox is still better than CNN in terms of balanced news coverage, but Fox simply isn't as good at covering breaking news stories. And all the Scott Peterson, Marc Levy, blah blah blah makes Fox usually a tabloid. And what about that Fox executive endorsing Kerry?
Yeah, Joe's MSNBC program did a good job on the Swift Vets, but that is the only one. Moreover, Joe's program is 100% opposed by that idiot Chris Matthews who has been railing against the Vets. Plus the other MSNBC programs come out against the Vets.
Secondly, MSNBC gets 0.2 ratings on average, and Joe's program gets 0.4 ratings. Fox typically gets 1.0 on average, and their primetime gets 1-2.0 ratings. So Fox gets the message of the Vets out, while very few watches MSNBC.
Third, Fox shows all these Laci stories to widen their audience. Not everyone is interested in politics. Hopefully, these viewers will be exposed to the Swifties along the way.
Fourth, Murdoch who runs Newscorp is pro-Bush, and so is Ailes who runs Fox News. Who cares if one or two guys at Newscorp is for Kerry? Fox having people from both sides gets them interviews with the Democraps, and that also helps with the ratings.
Lastly, I disagree with you that Fox isn't good at breaking news. Because they are close with the Bushies and Republicans, Fox breaks a lot more stories with their connections than the other news networks. Fox also had that exclusive with Karl Rove which no one else got.
I think you are complaining about nothing. What you want is a Rush-TV, which isn't Fox. Fox is right of center, but needs to cater to Democrats and liberals as well.
Do you have a name? Would like to know.
