WASHINGTON -- When George W. Bush accepted the presidential nomination four years ago, he laced his speech with extraordinary clues about his governing style. ''I do not need to take your pulse before I know my own mind," Bush told Americans. Mocking criticism that his platform was filled with ''risky schemes," Bush told the story of a patriot who ignored warnings that he would lose his property if he signed the Declaration of Independence, saying, ''Damn the consequences, give me the pen."
In retrospect, the Texan left no doubt: He intended his presidency to be built on a foundation of bold and broad risks.

The perspective of little men, who never took a stand on principles and personal values, irrespective of the risks.
Instead, all they see is personal risk. It is, as always, all about them.
That said he did a fair, but unoriginal, review of what the Net and Lexis Nexus has to say about President Bush.
I am not sure about Kranish in particular, but Boston Globe was harsh on Kerry in general before he decided to run for the president. Their book on Kerry is supposed to be fair. Remember, Kranish dug up Thurlow and reported on his comments debunking that all of Kerry's crewmates were for Kerry.
But at some point, Kranish started to kiss Kerry's butt. But you are right, he is not to be trusted.
AS the GM W. would sit in the regular seats and talk with regualr people about what they needed. When the BAllpark opened they had more service for the fans than ever and a fantastic Little League park. All this helped to pay the bill early. Maybe that is why he thinks all solutions in government are not bad.
