I live just outside of asheville. And yes, it's the city that endorses and encourages envirofascists. It also offers true witches covens and is the homosexual mecca of the south. If it's an alternate lifestyle, it's here. I doubt it's the work of union workers, as that is not common for this area. The hippies here have, as usual, no regard for anything other than themselves and their druidic worship of trees.

Walmart had its biggest challenge here. The envirowhackos wanted this old bleachery factory to stay there and look hideous. They do not care about jobs or anything beyond their world. Econmically, we need walmart to help the local economy recover from the enormous manufacturing job losses.

True, we live surrounded by beauty. But everything from expanding I26 to six lanes to Walmart has been blocked. I would love to say they should ride bikes and make their own stuff, LOL but they probably already do. Asheville caters to these groups because they have become econmically influential here.

Beautiful area, but I encourage touring Christians to stay out and let Asheville know your tourist dollars will be spent in surrounding conservative towns (hendersonville, brevard, well eveywhere except asheville). Definately not an area to expose children to. Christians need to exert the influences that have put the leftist agenda in the spotlight. Money talks and its the only language they understand. I shop the walmart in hendersonville. Ecoterrorism is serious, but here in Asheville, justice will not be served. They will be applauded. After all, the mayor of Asheville is a satan worshipping witch, FOR REAL.

I couldn't agree with you more! My husband grew up just outside of what he now calls A$$ville. The liberal devastation of that town is extreme...known as the San Francisco of the South. It has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the South, yet so ugly from their left leanings.
A few years back I remember seeing an ad by the then mayor of A$$ville.....she looked like she had just walked out of Woodstock...clothes, hair, etc. There are few straights left that don't resent the heck out of what has happened to that city...just a dumbed down version of what is happening to to whole country.

I'm sorry to hear that Asheville has changed so much since I left there in 1966 to go to college. I did see the articles about the Naked Bike Ride this summer and was disappointed at what Asheville has turned into. Some say it's the half-backs but your post says a lot about the causes.

On another sad note I am sickened at what they're doing to the mountain tops especially those visible along I-40 near Marion. While I am not an enviro-wacko I think that it is possible to develop my beloved mountains without shaving the tops off mountains!
