"...At the time, Kerry was serving as the point man for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. The president of the organization was Al Hubbard, who claimed to be an Air Force captain who was severely injured during his service in Vietnam.
It turned out Hubbard was a sergeant who never served in Vietnam.
He did, however, as Kerry knew, serve the communist cause with great enthusiasm and distinction making propaganda trips to Hanoi paid for by the Communist Party USA. "

I was 10 years in 68. All I remember was seeing the war on the news at 6:00 but I never knew anyone who went or died in Viet Nam.
As a 13 y.o. I heard about Mei Lei and Lt. Calley. I don't know why I formed the opinions that I did (maybe something I heard my parents say), but I made a handwritten petition to "Free Lt. Calley" and took it on the school bus and around to neighbors. I clearly remember a man who's kids I babysat asking me if I thought murdering babies was right. Maybe I was just born with the activist gene. For anyone who knows much about Mei Lei, I would appreciate hearing from you.
So now as an adult I want to say to all of you who have served our country and sacrificed much (includes my dad and many family members)...thank you from the bottom of my heart
