This convention makes me long for television. I don't own one, you see, but the thought of watching thousands of idiots parading around somehow appeals to me.

"Will to power" was an idea of Nietzsche. Darwinian natural selection does not have an element of will; in his theory, the fittest genetic elements survive simply by being better adaptations to the environment.
