He was somewhere campaigning. The girls father mentioned to him that her mother was killed on Sept. 11. He asked her how she was doing and she started to tear up. He hugged her and comforted her.
Thank you. The look on Bush's face shows empathy (not just sympathy). The look to me seems to show that Bush has the same very real sense of loss. A far-away look of remembering that day - and the people - with sadness.
