I smell desperation here. What reason is there to even email back, much less lose your cool like that. I think the old media is getting generallly ticked off that the Johns are circling the bowl, and specifically ticked off at what's driving the big flush: New media coverage of the Swifties and other embarassing things the old media was keeping under wraps.

Here's another piece of evidence: This is not only a rant in the sense that it's nasty and such, it's a rant because it goes off on a tangent. The text suggests he just was really ticked off to see anything from the NRLC, so he blasted them with general pro-death Malthusian spew rather than addressing the issue on the table. Sure doesn't write like an editor, either.

The editor of our hometown paper of record lost it on the phone with a local pro-lifer the other day, and for even less reason. He even accused said pro-lifer of "harassing" the newsroom secretary, even though she had just sent out a nice thank-you email to the pro-lifer for helping the paper out. Something about the current political/media market situation is driving these folks nuts.
