In reading the book, I say Kerry is unqualified by his own version of events. Kerry proudly claims that he was constantly giving his superiors a hard time and questioning being sent on combat missions. Really bizarre. You can't read Kerry's own words without feeling you would hate to have this guy as one of your junior officers. Apparently, Kerry claims to have been vocally anti-war even in Vietnam.

The swifties, on the other hand, claim he was a coward to his superiors and never spoke up, but that he was very anti-war with his peers. Either way, this is not my idea of a combat hero.

He only went to Swift boats for the obvious connections it would make to JFK's PT Boat service. JFK was his early hero and supposed mentor.

It is just that simple.......
