Putin made a big mistake. He should have partnered with us in Afghanistan and Iraq which would have led to adding the Chechen jihadists to the list of garbage to be swept up.
As I understand, this RDX can be disguised in something as small as a bar of soap. How can airport security stop this from being brought aboard a plane in someone's carry-on luggage?

Five operators wouldn't be needed for a bomb. They would be needed for the hijacking, which could be aborted with a bomb detonation. It's quite possible the hijackers were confronted by a planeload of scared and furious passengers who didn't want a repeat of 9/11.
