Yes, don't have children if you cannot afford them.
Live within your means. Save what you can. Improve yourself and your situation as you can. Plan for the future.
Very few people in poverty, or on minimum wage, remain there for more than 10 years. And very few who retire do so out of inability to work.
Remember, the conventional retirement age of 65 was chosen at a time when very few people lived that long. Our current convention of retiring at 65 is a luxury in the history of mankind.
The solution to the problem - if it is a problem instead of a demand for luxury - is _not_ to demand others pay under threat of imprisonment.
