They showed on NBC that the Korean actually did 4 "holds" during his routine, the max is three, with an auto deduct of 0.1 for more. He was not docked the 0.1 due to another error by the officials. They started him out 0.1 too low and then didn't dock him the mandatory 0.1.

So, the errors cancel each other out. Hamm wins Gold fairly.

I don't know if this is true or not but they showed it and he clearly had four (maybe even five) "holds".

Thank you for adding some facts to the biased article posted at the top.

Omitting relevant facts is the most obnoxious M.O. of the mainstream press.

Yes. The Korean had too many holds.

Hamm is a great young guy, totally innocent in all this. I can't believe what they all are doing to him. This is most likely because he is an American. He has worked hard and he won the gold and it should not be tainted.

The proof in the pudding for me also came when Hamm had to perform the bar routine the last night under the boos and whistles (meaning the same as boos) from the audience about the horribly low scores given to the sensational Nemov of Russia, who had gone just prior. Hamm's turn came after 10 minutes of solid booing, and people were still booing somewhat DURING his performance. NO ONE ELSE had to perform under that horrid pressure. Yet he put in a nearly flawless routine.

When it was the Korean's turn, the booing had all but stopped. No doubt this whole hullaballoo upset the Korean as well, though. He tumbled from the bar, didn't stick his landing, and did not perform well under the pressure. Hamm is better.

Honesty compels me to say, though, that I thought Nemov should have had the silver in the bars, though. He deserved it. Only the Italian (who won gold) was better.
