Sounds like SP2 might be more trouble than it's worth.

I'm holding off for now.

Nothing is perfect but I'm sure Microsoft has already addressed critics' concerns with "silent" patches to the final upgrade. Its still better than what we have now in terms of making our computers more secure to outside attacks.

The only issue I have with SP2 is that it installs Windows Media Player 9.x. It took me months to clean up, neuter, and firewall the previous version, and was finally solved by downloading Winamp.

I won't run programs that hammer on the firewall, or offer to "Manage" my multimedia licenses, etc..

I'm holding off too. We do 99% of our internet access from the Linux side of our system anyway.
