The discussions of Vietnam have had their effect, the idea that Kerry may have exaggerated his record will stick. Time to look at what he did after and then what he has not accomplished as a Politician.
To an extent I agree. This election has to be about economic policy, foreign policy, leadership.
But this is not Bush's debate. He didn't open this can of worms, Kerry did by A.) questioning Bush's national guard service and B.) raising such a big stink about Vietnam. The Vietnam record is not in the Bush vs. Kerry debate, it is in the Kerry vs. the Swifties debate, and only one person can end it, and it's Kerry.
Robert Novak has solved the riddle of Kerry's first purple heart fantasy in his latest column.
Ahh, but the end IS in sight,,,,circa 11/02/04!!!!!!
There's one man responsible for Vietnam being a central issue, and he'll never work in the Oval Office
Yeah Congressman, and I want to hit the lottery. Doesn't mean it's going to happen.
ping
What a spoil sport.
Does Tom think voters can't talk and chew gum at the same time.
Does he think voters can't handle two ongoing debates at the same time?
The electorate can surely pay attention to SwiftVet ads and talk about Kerry's Vietnam deception while at the same time debate issues such as taxes, terror, education, etc.
Sometimes I wonder about people who make statements like Congressman Tom what's is name.
Now that this Republican representative has tasted the catnip and received the media attention for turning against his party's interest, he will, like a rogue tiger, want to kill again.
Can't we move on (dot org?) We have been down this road before and learned it wasn't just about sex, it was about character. It is not about Viet Nam, it is about integrity and moral courage - the most important unwritten qualifications for the office of the Commander-in-Chief in time of war.
Congressman, this is about picking a leader with the sand to get us through the next four years of World War IV. You might not care if my kids' fate is entrusted to a self promoting poser, a liar, a gamer, a man who steals the honor of others to advance his own ambition, but, by God, I do.
With all due respect Congressman
John Kerry sold out the troops in 71
And take a look at his voting record in the senate
What do you think the chances are that he will sell out the troops again ??
Whether or not Kerry lied, cheated and used his service for political opportunism is very important.
Hey Tom, you work for us buddy. We tell you what's important, not the other way around.
I agree with Tom. I am upset that kerry made us do this. Kerry has reopened old wounds because his Senate record is abyssmal.
I agree with Tom, but why the Hell didn't he say this when Kerry and the MSM were winning the refight of Nam.
Tom Cole of Oklahoma says the nation would worry more about American soldiers in those two countries than spending time debating John Kerry's military record in Vietnam. We're not debating John Kerry's military record in Vietnam, Tom. We're debating whether there is a pretender and pathological liar running for President of the United States. The Democratic candidate for President was an unknown to most Americans until this year. It's not like he was one of the Senate's luminary figures. So he gets on the national stage and presents himself to the American people as a one-time war hero... a guy who doesn't have that McGovern baggage that so many Democrats carry. Now we find out he's worse than McGovern. He's McGovern and Jane Fonda rolled into one. Not only has he voted against every military and intelligence program in twenty years, he's the guy who slimed a generation of veterans in front of the United States Senate. Under oath. And he has the nerve to arrive at the Democratic convention in a faux "swift boat," where he proceeds to "report for duty" while his "band of brothers" stands behind him waving the flag. It's not about Vietnam. It's about a charlatan running for President. |
Congressman Cole, you decide the issues on which you base your vote, but STFU about dictating to me how I decide my vote.
