The city is just cleaning up the trash on the streets with the Convention so close... doing a fine job of it, I see.

Sad and self-loathing? Who is this writer? What is this source? So often the liberals accuse us of that which they are guilty of. This is another one of those cases. Of all the many Freeps and rallies I've been to, the only curse words, rage, and violence I've seen has been EXCLUSIVELY from the leftist nuts.

Presumably, the best way to "Stop AIDS" would be to remain clothed... just a theory.

the opposition to Bush is crazy, out of the mainstream, people that Americans should be afraid of."Well, at least this fool got that part right.

"If you won't listen to me, perhaps you'll listen to David Corn." The irony of this line probably won't strike me in its complete profundity until tomorrow. Best lib line I've heard that doesn't mention the Village Voice.

It's from the East Bay Express. For those not from the SF area, this is the only one of the three major local throwaway papers who'd dare to run an article criticizing Left protest tactics, or mentioning that ANSWER is a Stalinist front.

Isn't he the same guy who had the brilliant idea of running a pic on his magazine's back cover that depicted the President as a Goyaesque naked monster devouring children?
This writer might have a bit more credibility, and more of a point. if the hard Left and the Liberals hadn't morphed into a common mass over the past 40 years.

But the moment most fraught with tension will undoubtedly occur on August 31, "civil disobedience day." That morning, Patterson says, affinity groups are scheduled to fan out to hotels housing the convention delegates, where they will sit in lobbies, link arms, and confront delegates as they munch on their continental breakfasts. "Madison Square Garden's going to be a fortress," Patterson says, "so people are wondering if they can make their voices heard by going to the hotels."Great! I'm a convention volunteer at what's considered a "high priority" hotel, and I'm on duty that day...

I'm just wondering what the connection is between stopping AIDS and a bunch of fugly people getting naked in the middle of midtown Manhattan...
I always assumed that the best way to stop AIDS would be to *keep* one's clothes on one's body. And particularly these rather unattractive ones!

After I posted the article, someone sent me a link to the pics. It was only too appropriate to show that the author's advice is being soundly ignored. These people want a naughty-street-party/freak-show/riot, and either don't understand the backlash concept, or else WANT to p!ss off the undecideds as a way of getting back at Mommy and Daddy in the 'burbs.

No, I have a feeling that looking at nude people like this will make everyone think twice about taking their own clothes off.
