You don't think that Democrats, with affirmative action, offer Hispanics goodies the Republicans won't? Or as more illegals drive down the wages for those Hispanics already in the country, that the Democrats' social programs will not become more and more appealing?

You hit the nail on the head. Hispanics are socially conservative and a disproportionate number of them are small business owners. This seems like a demographic that is custom-made for the GOP.

The GOP should focus on recruiting young Hispanic politicians and working them up through the system. In a decade, we could own the demographic.

I know. If you don;t like the flood of immigration, you're racist. I mean, just because Southern California is closing down emergency rooms because we can't afford using them as health clinics for illegals is no reason to question our immigration policy. And the fact that we have to spend an ever growing amount of resources for kids in our classrooms that can;t speak English is certainly no reason to suggest we slow immigration down. And sure, our freeways are packed but why should that matter.
