Look, I'm from Texas and I'm with you too and would frankly like all of this illegal immigration stuff to stop very quickly.
The thing most whites from California and Arizona don't seem to understand is that most illegals and Mexicans who have come into the country in those states come from the Baja region of Mexico, a region of Mexico that is notoriously leftist, and that California's generous welfare policy helps encourage their leftist and violent intentions.
In contrast, most Mexicans that get into Texas come from the more conservative part of Mexico, with its centers being Guadalahara and Monterrey are among the most American friendly parts of Mexico. And Texas' welfare policies basically don't exist. In short, if you immigrate here, you have to work. Otherwise, no one will care. Also the illegals here don't vote and don't organize. Tony Sanchez tried to create this, and guess what, it didn't occur except in his home county.
The reason why Democrats are going to have problems in Texas in the future is because they are so disorganized, most of the high-ranking Hispanic politicians that will come into power in the future in this state will be Republican because that's where the upper-class Hispanics in Texas vote. I lived among them. I can tell you how true this is.
Still, immigration should be stopped, period. We need time to assimilate and defuse all of these Hispanics already in this country.
You're wrong about Tijuana and Baja --- they were actually important for the PAN party and Fox's election:
The fall of the PAN
Baja California has historically given strong support to the PAN, which nearly ousted the PRI from power in two fraud-ridden elections in the 1950s and '60s. The PRI finally lost Baja California in 1989, when PAN mayor Ernesto Ruffo of Ensenada successfully ran to became Mexico's first opposition governor.
With that watershed election, Baja California became the vanguard of Mexico's democratic transition, and a PAN stronghold. As the PAN picked up further victories in other states and major cities in the 1990s, laying a foundation for Vicente Fox's surprise victory in the 2000 Mexican presidential elections.
Governed by the PAN through five consecutive mayoral administrations, Tijuana was a model of PAN success. Only two other major cities, Len and Mérida, were held by the PAN for so long. The PAN's emphasis on "good government" combined administrative transparency with expanded public works and services in Tijuana.

A lot of the problem is that Mexico has a lot of Communist and leftist parties and there is no Conservative party, nothing like a Republican party in spite of many decades of democracy. Mexico has over 70% of it's labor force unionized. It's just not a country overflowing with Conservatives.
Texas has always had Spanish ancestried people --- and many of them were so far from Mexico City for the same reason American pioneers were far from their densely populated areas --- they were never that closely associated with the government of Mexico in the first place, some fought the Mexicans at the Alamo for the independence of Texas. Also there was a big influx of people during the time of the Mexican Revolution --- and many of them are somewhat like Cuban refugees. Some of the professional/middle class moving in from Mexico are also real conservatives. With the campesinos moving over now, only a few are really conservatives or find the idea of conservatism appealing. Most of the indigent class coming over isn't conservative at all.
If Texas stays Republican, it will be because the Republicans have capitulated by giving more hand outs than Democrats. Down here in South Texas, all the US Representatives are Democrat. I really don't know if Cornyn is a Democrat or Republican. He is a big kiss-up to the hispanics.
Now one of the problems we are having is that many WEALTHY hispanics from Monterray are coming for free health care. Also, the US government plays 75% to 80% of ALL the health care in south Texas.
In contrast, most Mexicans that get into Texas come from the more conservative part of Mexico
Oh man.
Look Sam, even if that were true, illegals, regardless of what part of Mexico they are from, are a very transient group. They move around a lot, and use different names etc. As a matter of fact, there is a pipe line of illegals that run drugs and themselves back and forth from LA to Texas, and all other points. They don't move in, buy a home, get married and stay in the same town for 30 years. Know what I mean?
