It may sound like the start of a bad joke, but the fact is most married women say they'll vote for President Bush. By nearly 2-to-1, unmarried women say they support John Kerry.
The "marriage gap" -- the difference in the vote between married and unmarried women -- is an astonishing 38 percentage points, according to aggregated USA Today/CNN/Gallup Polls. In contrast, the famous "gender gap," the difference in the vote between men and women, is just 11 points.

That makes sense. Kerry is rich, and like most Democrats, available.
Divorced women are the biggest dem supporters I know.
Its sickening.
Read "Unmarried minority women" back Kerry.
As an unmarried woman, I would never support Kerry for anything.
Duh. I read the same articles in 2000 except that single women were supporting Gore.
Just saw Juan Williams on FOX and the wife and I have agrred; If Kerry CONFESSED that he was lieing about all the medals, Juan Williams would proclaim," Kerry was LIEING about LIEING, for the patriot good of the Country". What a "MAROON KOOL-AID DRINKER"
That's easy to figure. Married women have responsibilities. They have security and a steady leader on their minds. Single women "go with the flow" to the whoopi goldberg, barbara streisand, et al, crowd.
Let's hope so! I would be willing to bet that women who fall in the demographic that I did until March of this year support Bush. I was a never married hetero professional woman. I came out of college as a lib lite, but once I started earning real money, I became conservative, and have voted REP ever since. The single women who support Kerry are a)dykes, b) bitter single moms, c) union sheeple, or d) all of the above.
By the way, on March 27, I happily joined the married woman Bush supporter demographic.
You are unmarried, but earning an income, thus, you don't wish to hand over your hard earned $$. How far off am I?
See my post #9.
Please... this does not make sense... I'm divorced and voted for Bush and will again. All my single women friends vote Republican! We're Christian and we do have family values...
We're just single, not second-class citizens... if it sounds like I'm hollering... you're right... I AM!
Good for you! It gets my hackles up when people lump all single women in the same boat. See my post #9.
Hey, I'm single and I support da Bushman over Botox Ketchupman any day of the week. The former looks rugged the latter looks prissy.
The poll did show that one third of unmarried women are supporting Bush.
Congratulations for being in the smarter one third.
Right on. Have always supported my self. I also remember John Keryy's shameful treatment of the Viet Nam vets in the 70's.
This unmarried, employed, tax paying woman is firmly for BUSH.
"All my single women friends vote Republican! We're Christian and we do have family values..."
My intent was to slam Kerry-any collateral offensiveness was an oversight. I apologize.
Hummmmm... looks like 100% of the single women here are voting for Bush! Now these are poll results that make sense.
