McCain won't run in '08. I don't want to be morbid, but his health is too big an issue.

He might not be around in 2008.

The prez courting McCain--why? From observations, McCain is like the miserable good for nothin senator from Vermont that turned independent--can't even remember the turkey's name.

Considering his ego, I believe he'd run on his deathbed. He'll be a media whore 'til the day he dies.

Either way, it's going to be interesting here in Arizona.

We've just had too many liberals move here in the last twenty years.

Janet Napolitano being one of the biggest.

As a Republican or a Democat?

I don't believe he has enough Republican chits to get the bid...

The media has blown so much smoke up his ass, he's beginning to believe he brings something of value to the table...

I am NOT a fan of McCain.

My observation:

I think too many of these politicians start believing their own press.

I am also of the belief that our political leaders have a great disservice done to them when the members of their staff do not disagree with them and then have the facts to back up the disageement.

I have heard time and time again "you can't talk to the senator/congressman that way."

My assumption is the politicos don't want the truth.

Which also validates my opinion of W's leadership skills. He invites dissent within his Cabinet.

As long as McCain remains pro-life, it will have to be as a Republican.

Worse than that.
Gilante was a fellow POW and a classmate at USNA as well.
John O'Neill is also a graduate of USNA, although not in '58. O'Neill is younger.

The rumor is right.
He's "thinking" about it.

If he still has his primary organizers from 2000 still active in Texas, Florida, Iowa, etc., then he will, unfortunately, probably have a lock on the nomination, because of how the party operates.

I'm a vet and I piss on McCain...

He is taking Kerry's side in the fight against the Swiftees. They are heroes who have stood by their nation...but McCain is standing on the side of Benedict Arnold Kerry.

McCain needs to publicly support the President or switch parties.

My vote goes for switching parties.

Mc Cain attacking the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth say a lot about his character.

I had never heard about this story before, but it's absolutely dead-on:

Both Kerry and Bush also know McCain plays well in the media, too. After McCain's 2000 victory in New Hampshire, Bush's brother Marvin told reporters, "That great sucking sound you hear is the sound of the media's lips coming off of John McCain's ..." He cut off the end of his own sentence.

Worse than that. Gilante was a fellow POW and a classmate at USNA as well.

And he was also McCain's campaign co-chair in Virginia.

Paul Gilanti was in my brother's company at Annapolis all four years. I recently sent my brother the Mark Steyn article which mentioned Paul and he forwarded it to Paul and this is what Paul sent back and my brother forwarded to me. I'm such a groupie.

"Thanks, Dennis. Wish I didn't feel like I have to do something...

Great article below - thanks for sending. I think the wheels are coming off the Kerry Campaign. I hope. I hope.

Paul"

What really touched me about him is thinking of him in the Hanoi Hilton for seven years (two more than McCain) and listening to Kerry. He said that he's had his first flash back when he listened recently to Kerry's testimony and remembered the way he pronounced Ghengis Khan (probably the french pronunciation).. he said that they played that for the prisoners at the time. Makes me furious.

Galanit was also McCain's campaign manager in Virginia in 2000.

I don't personally care much for McCain, but he has been traveling with the President on the campaign trail.

He gives the introduction of the President and he gives a very strong intro, saying things like he has earned our support and our love.

The crowd has been going nuts when he does that. I have heard him give that intro twice and it leaves no doubt that he is supportig the President.
