'THis is a real quote? From 1971?

It's an out and out lie, right?

And I presume covered in unfit for command???'

d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d

This is directly from the transcript from the Cavett show in 1971. I heard that smarmy freak speak it, too, altho I felt like screaming listening to that fake Bahstun accent...

I don't know if it is an outright lie; I have never read anything about it, I have never heard anyone else mention it, I have sent it around for some research and never heard about it again, and I don't have a copy of the book to see if it is in there. I don't believe it is in the book, but I am shocked no one else seems to be excited about it....

Wait up here.

I just read tonight, in fact a short time ago, something which I think was from paperlessarchives.

Hope I can find it -- it's something about the VVAW cooking up an idea to have a mutiny among soldiers in VN. They were going to get 2000 of them to refuse orders.

I wonder if he was once again stretching the true story, so that this plot became the reality here in this Cavett interview.

Here, it's on this link:

link

"The Wisconsin delegation proposed a plan to contact 2,000 active-duty GI's in South Vietnam and in effect ask them for a mutinous action by refusing to take up arms when ordered to do so. This proposal was favorably accepted by the committee."
