Like I've been saying, if the MSM thinks Kerry is going to lose they will go after him hard so they can say later on that it was KERRY who lost, not his socialist ideas. If they smell blood in the water they will bury him.

Oh I agree.
Maybe I am stating the obvious, but it seems they are reluctantly behind him. Prior to Iowa, they sort of laughed him off and did not take him seriously. I think they were hoping for Dean, he certainly seemed to have the momentum. Then they got the horse's ass with the horse face and they supported him just to help get Bush out. However, they now see how weak he is. You are right, they will blame him not the agenda because they want to continue pushing this socialist agenda.

Why? I have no idea. But let me tell you, I am getting sick of the baby boomer, blame America first crowd.

I had a weird thought this morning that if Bush does win, that they are going to start undermining him form day one and I wouldn't be suprised to hear calls for impeachment, etc...

One of the issues is that Republicans, and Conservatives in particular, seem reluctant to stand up and be counted. That is not meant to be a slight, just that you don't see us demonstrating like the left does. I would love to see a hugh million conservative march and demonstrate on the Washington Mall for Conservative values. But of course, that would make us extremists and ... gasp... fascists.

Don't sharks devour their bleeding comrades rather than bury
them?

You've got to hand it to the libs - they have a long tmie horizon. If Kerry can't help them achieve any of their objectives in the short-term, it is important to 'clear the decks' (pun intended) to set the stage for Hillary, et al in 2008.

It's sort of like breaking up with someone - it typically drags on until a break point is finally reached where there's no turning back. However, once the break is made, people tend to start focusing on the future.

I disagree with on MSM going after Kerry. They might know he is going to lose with his implosion but they will not put up their white flag. They have too much to lose. Hillary and company know this too. If the Dems get anhilated in this election, there goes Congress, the court system, Supreme Court etc.

They will fight to the end for Kerry to at least make it a close election.

The MSM will execute the coup de grace and claim all the credit, since no credit can be allowed by the MSM to go to the Swift Vets... that would put the MSM in a passive, foolish looking light, rather than the knights in shining armor and protectors of the common good which they know themselves to be.

In the aftermath, they will trash both Kerry and the Swift Vets in one breath... while taking on the new tasks of paving the way for Edwards in 2004 and Hillary in 2008.
