I love both the Prez and his wife. I never said GB was vice president when they got married but GWB was in his 30's while his dad was VP.From what I understand he was drinking in his 30's.

I voted for W for governor and President and I will be voting for him again in November. Like I said before, this is about how Bush wasn't some drunken wife beater who came home pissing himself at night and poor old Laura had to put up with it. He drank and Laura didn't like it but all I'm saying is thats not much to put up with when you have a husband who takes care of you.

When I was young my dad drank every so often, and when he would come home it was fun because he wasn't concerned with work or paying bills and was more light hearted. I remember my mother getting angry about it is what would cause grief. Thats my point, I get sick of hearing Laura had to put up with so much. Most women would kill to be in her shoes.

Yea, he drank in his 20s and 30s up to 40. No he was not a wife beater or anything like that. GW has said in his own words that his drinking got in the way of his relationships and he had to stop. He has even said that they stopped being as intimate for awhile. I hesitate to say that the family members and friends who have told this story countless times are getting it wrong, especially since they all say the same thing. I am very glad that your dad was a responsible drinker. It's just that sometimes drinking DOES get in the way of family.
