All right, I have to ask.
We had orientation at school this evening. Afterwards I went to the office to ask about something that I noticed on the registration for my child at the end of the school year, this past June.
They had us checked off for 'Title 1'. I asked what 'Title 1' was. Nobody in the office knew. Or at least that was their story. I thought Title 1 was the free and or reduced lunch program, which we are not elligible for and do not receive.
The prople working in the office told me to find the principal and or assistant principal. When I left to seek the principals I saw a couple of teacher's and asked them if they knew what Title 1 was, and they said it was grants for the free reduced, lunch program. I explained about it being checked off on my son's registration and they said that the school had so much money left over from last year that every student had it check off on their registration.
When I was outside leaving the school, I mentioned this to another parent and she promptly started telling me, how at one of the other schools they are doing the same thing AND they had 'no insurance' marked off for ALL the students.
She said that she thinks they are scamming. That when students don't have insurance they get extra funds.
Are they scamming for funds illegally?
Down here on the border all the children get free lunches and breakfasts. This includes all the children that our school buses pick up at border that cross daily. It also includes all the doctors and lawyers children. Our educators want all the children to look alike.
