Correct me if I am wrong, but if Kerry had a six year, six month enlistment then he would have been guilty of treason for his antiwar actions and testimony and his trip to Paris to meet with the commies

'#5. Lt. Kerry met with NVA and Vietcong communist leaders in Paris, in direct violation of the UCMJ and the U.S. Constitution.'
. . .seems a 'treason' to me. . .

Correct me if I am wrong, but if Kerry had a six year, six month enlistment then he would have been guilty of treason for his antiwar actions and testimony and his trip to Paris to meet with the commies Technically speaking, officers don't "enlist". He had a contract for 3 years of active duty, 2 years of ready reserve and 1 year of standby reserve. His 3 years was up sometime in 1969, although he had first extended that and then request release from that extension, which was granted.
The question of treason has nothing to do with his reserve status. Civilians can give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States as well. They can commit perjury just as well too. They can violate the laws against negotiating with foreign powers. He did all those things, but as a civilian, even though he was still subject to recall to active duty during that period as a member of the Individual Ready Reserve.
