Former Georgia Senator Max Cleland (C) with former Green Beret Lt. Jim Rassmann (R) attempts to deliver a letter to U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) at the security checkpoint near Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, August 25, 2004. The letter was a message from Congressional veterans calling on Bush to denounce the third party 'Swift Boat Veterans for Bush' attack ads against Democratic presidential nominee Senator John Kerry (news - web sites). He receives $30 a day from the campaign Rassmann is doing it for the money. He's a Democrat mercenary, taking the Kerry campaign's filthy lucre, and parroting lines approved by Kerry's advisors:
[David] Alston spoke only briefly with National Review Online, saying all interviews must be approved by the Kerry campaign... (Kerrys Brief Brotherhood - Byron York/NRO)

I read where Rassman is spending his own money for this fool's mission. Maybe I'm cynical but it always gets back to money to me. I wonder how he is being compensated. Do you suppose that he has a DNC credit card in his possession for "expenses"? The flights are covered easily. The cell phone is probably given to him.

Face of the Democrat Party. Kinda says it all doesn't it.

Form what was actually reported (on FNC) is that so-called 'letter' was from SIX Democratic Congressmen. SIX RATS - period!

If the president of the United States does not stick up for veterans when they come home from war, who will he stick up for?" Did Cleland really say this? OMG. This is classic. The dimwits REALLY must think most Americans are stupid.
Unless, of course, Cleland slipped and was talking about Kerry.

So many questions not asked about Rassmann that self-described "VOLVO" Republican back in Iowa, this past January 2004.
How is it he came to be on JFKerry's boat?
How long was he in Vietnam and what did he do while there.
When did he leave the military?
What has he done since leaving the military?
WHO of JFKerry's band of rebels has he maintained contact with?
DID he speak with Douglas Brinkley to write JFKerry warrior book that established the foundation upon which JFKerry used as basis to become "commander-in-chief".
We know next to nothing about this guy Rassmann and I find that interesting.

Someone here wrote the other day that Mr. Rassman is on a pension from the LAPD?
Gotta wonder what he has been doing all these years that might have shaped his feeling of loyalty to Kerry and the libs...(naturally if Mr. Rassman is an honest man...he is blindly loyal..at least from my perspective)
I haven't heard Mr. Rassman vocalize any animosity toward those who don't see things as he does though...which is interesting...he simply tells his story his way and it happens to be favorable to Kerry...It is very possible that the story happened from his perspective the way he tells it...
Other peoples versions are quite different...so to arrive at the truth one must independently interview a variety of witnesses take into consideration their dependability and honesty and their agenda (if they have one) and weigh it carefully against the testimony of other credible witnesses..
The SBVT have careful and systematically culled testimony that does not have at least two witnesses to it...even seemingly honest versions with only one witness were discarded from the book...
Sometimes it's amazing to talk to your old shipmates or war buddies and listen to how they saw the very same events you did...at the same time...and yet saw something completely different
Or how thirty five years later....they have evolved into flaming God hating liberal brown stained dip shorts...and they cant believe
what a bible thumping conservative war mongering a hole I've become
There is a process whereby the truth of a matter may be ascertained...so far only the SBVT have approached the matter of Kerry's version of events with anything even remotely resembling dispassionate fact finding and truth prosecution
Mr. Rassman may indeed be a fiercely loyal kinda guy or have an agenda....his past might very well reveal either or both...
The SBVTs have presented facts in such a way that any good jury would have no problem determining what the truth is....and what it isn't...... regarding the suitability of JFKerry for Commander and Chief of our Armed Forces...which is their stated goal and only goal
Mr. Rassmans accounts simply are not wieghty enough to be more compelling than the SBVTs
imo

The $30.00 a day Rassman mentions is a decoy. He has all expenses paid. But the real pay-off for Rassmann is that if Kerry actually gets in to desecrate the Oval Office and effectively bring an end to this nation, Rassman will assuredly receive an attractive sinecure probably in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Same for Cleland and the others.
