August 26, 2004 -- New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey had state troopers escort him to Golan Cipel's home for months, sometimes letting them cool their heels for hours, a bombshell new report says. Many of the visits occurred from November 2001 to April 2002, while the two were living one-tenth of a mile apart in Woodbridge, N.J., where McGreevey had been mayor, the Star-Ledger reported yesterday.Sometimes, the governor had the troopers drop him off at Cipel's apartment and pick him up later, the newspaper said. Other times, they waited for him outside.
Occasionally, McGreevey would dismiss the troopers, saying he would simply walk home.
Some troopers were uncomfortable with the visits, especially those forced to wait outside Cipel's apartment late at night, the newspaper said.
But they didn't go public because of the pledge of confidentiality that comes with serving in the unit.
The newspaper said the visits were always after business hours sometimes at night and lasted from a few minutes to a few hours.

Now where have I heard this before? :-)
Another politician working "hard" for the people.
And his wife didn't know he was gay ..
Yea right
Yick.
Why does McGomorrah's sexcapades with his boyfriend remind me of Bubba's "Troopergate?"
In the military, service members are not just permitted, but in fact, are required to disobey an unlawful order. Too bad State Troopers and Secret Service do not operate under a similar Code of Conduct.
Maybe they remembered what happened to some of Clinton's protection detail.
Then, how do we ensure a blanket protection detail for the gang of thieves we elect to office? And being a Republic, how do we overcome an incumbants benefit that they would surely never give up?
Meanwhile, according to recent polls, half of New Jersey taxpayers are perfectly content to have McGreevey continue "serving" them until November.
If New Jersey was any kind of a decent state, its taxpayers would be demanding not only an immediate resignation, but also reimbursement by McGreevey for the salaries of all the state troopers who had to moonlight as gubernatorial pimps and, of course, Golan Cipel's undeserved salary at the various positions he occupied.
I don't know if this is one for the list but it's related to the issue...
!-(
Yep, the troopers would drop Scumbag off at a woman's house and then wait in the car across the street. Clinton would flick the light, and then knew he was finished with his official state business.
