Yeah you silly people. It all depends on what the word "IS" is.

This was discussed on Hannity and Colmes last night.
O'Neil said he worked along the border. And he knew of this document.

You cannot sue for libel. The whole "sue for libel" business is nonsense. Nobody involved in this whole controversy is going to sue for libel, and no one who did so would win. To threaten to do it, or to invitee the other side to do it, is wasting everybody's time.
O'Neill did score some rhetorical points by stating specific "facts" and then saying "let Kerry sue me for libel if this fact is not true" after each specific fact, but as bright and successful lawyer he surely knows that it would never happen.

O'Neill was asked about this and said he was talking about a time after Kerry left in a place outside the delta in the open ocean off the south coast of Vietnam. Apples and Oranges. If so, he should make that absolutely clear. It seems likely to me that swiftboats would have patrolled the open water, Gulf of Siam border at all times during the war.

Also there were two different times that O'Neil referenced on H and C last night.

I despise Yahoo and their intentionally inaccurate headlines. Do you (or anyone else) have a good recommendation for an alternative?
I use Yahoo mainly to check on stocks, and also to play a game or two occasionally.

Did John O'Neil also say he ran guns into Cambodia?
Did he say that he ran CIA agents in Cambodia?
Did he say that he ran Navy Seals to Cambodia?
Did he say that a CIA agent gave a kerry a Lucky Hat?
Did he say that he even crossed the border once?
Even if he did, does that mean Kerry did Too?
That is all.

Just press releases from Harold Ickes, Terry Lenzner, and Jack Paladino. They have an army of union lawyers combing thru as much data on Swifties as possible. Ickes has them work for him like flying monkeys after Dorothy.

Don't you love it? The lamestream media comes through for Johnny Boy again. Must be nice. They're too stupid, spoiled and lazy to do such research. My bet is they were handed this by an eager beaver researcher at Kerry-Edwards

Did you hear that horrible arrogant blowhard O'Reilly today? I happended to go past on the dial and a woman was saying that she and her friend (d) were now going to vote for President Bush. He tried to talk them out of it and said NONE of the Swifites "served" with Kerry. (Big lie) And then the really liberal girl on his show brought up the lies in Kerry's own book, and that Kerry had contradicted his OWN STORY and then Bill said written things didn't matter and (I quote:) "So what?"
Unbelievable!!!!

"I was in Cambodia, sir. I worked along the border," said John E. O'Neill in a conversation that was taped by the former president's secret recording system. The tape is stored at the National Archives in College Park, Md.Looking up old Nixon White House tapes means the Kerry people are really digging. Sounds almost desperate, but they're better at that sort of thing than Republicans are.

Anyone think Kerry will be asked about his voting record, at some point? Good question and I certainly hope so. I hope the staterery is to whomp Kerry with the Swift Vets ... then whack him with his devasting Senate record.

Yeah, the headline sure doesn't match the article.
But most people just go for the headline and that is what the Kerry campaign's talking points will be tomorrow.
Discredit the messenger, don't answer any questions. Clinton all over again.

OK, IF O'Neil had said he was in Cambodia and wasn't and that's so bad, then uh, wouldn't that mean it's bad that Kerry lied about being in Cambodia?
However, O'Neill was in fact saying it was UNTRUE that swift boats were sent into Cambodia. Therefore, O'Neil's momentary misstatement of the word "in" followed immediately by saying he was "along" the border cannot possibly be viewed as lying to claim he was in Cambodia. That was the OPPOSITE of what O'Neill was describing.

If nothing else, the Swift Boat vets are drawing heavy fire. The Kerry camp was hoping to avoid spending money this early, and save it for the big battle with the fearsome RNC attack machine. Now, they're sweating heavy to suppress a few hundred guys with a few hundred thousand dollars.
Ironic that Kerry has never felt pain over the words he used to hurt so many 30 years ago until right now. That boomerang has been in the air for three decades, and it's bound to leave a mark.

A headline tailor made for a Kerry attack ad against the Vets.
The story itself (however biased) doesn't support the headline - The media/Kerry are desperate.
