Bush has been savaged for a year by 527's favoring Kerry.

UPI said this?????????? Yikes!

That woman's soul shows right through her face.

That woman has no soul. We should pray that she finds one before it's too late.

I think that he was drinking Kerry Koolaid, when he got drunk and threw a hand grenade at himself.

They were already elected before the wars came, of course. I doubt if either one would have become Prime Minister if the war had started before the election.

Didn't see it live, but I got a full dose from all the usual suspects.

"Just STFU about Vietnam; I don't want to talk about it anymore; I want to talk about what I did when I returned, since I haven't been beat up enough by Veterans yet."

"Besides, I don't know why YOUR Swift Vets are so p*ssed at me; I SAID to them at the PCF-1 monument dedication that I didn't mean Swiftees; it was just all the other vets who committed atrocities and war crimes."

"After all, when I protested, at least I acted out of principle! Oh, and would you, who has no principles, please just talk about the issues? And don't forget that my Senate record; my integrety or its lack; or anything I said or did after I returned from Vietnam---did I mention I was a hero over there, and won 3PH's, a bronze Star, and a silverStar?--are NOT issues."

"And speaking of issues, your lawyer has to quit, but all mine can keep working for Move-on, because only Republicans can have any conflicts of interest. I read that in the FEC rules somewhere, I'm sure."

November 2, 2004 can't come soon enough.

Hey, now? What's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin' down!
It's Kerry spinnin' and floppin' around!

There's a smokin' gun over there,
Kerry's spinnin' and tearin' 'is hair,
Whinin' that tellin' the truth ain't fair!

"Damn the phone calls! Full speed ahead, Mr. O'neil!"

"Aye, aye, Sir! Fire at Kerry, Mr. Gardner!"

I recommend you read Karen Hughes' book, Ten Minutes from Normal. She didn't want to have ANY job in Washington. She left to move back to Texas because she was concerned about her son and her husband had sacrificed a lot over the last two years, while she was in Washington. She made her decision based on her priorities and her faith.

A woman isn't acceptable as commander-in-chief when we are at war.

Don't remember Maggie Thatcher and the Falklands, I presume?

I did not see the show but if they stop all political ads 60 days before the election

That is not true,. No ploitical ads will be stopped either by the 527s or the campaigns.

I remember them well. But they were already elected before the wars came. I doubt if either one would have become Prime Minister if the war had started before the election.

It's true that I haven't read her book. But you do have to wonder when mothers like Karen Hughes and Mary Madelin who at the height of their fame decide to leave political office to attend to their families (and these departures occurred suspiciously AFTER the sharp differences between the Bush Hawks (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Hughes & Madelin) and the Bush Doves (Rove & Powell) began to surface. Believe me, I'm not knocking parenthood and I've heard Karen Hughes speak about her son, but they WERE mothers BEFORE the election and they, above all others, KNOW what kind of hours and strain it can cause to a family. Sorry if I sound cynical, but the timing of both departures seemed strange.

You need to read the book. As a mother who had a career for awhile when my kids were in school, it made a lot of sense.

According to Karen's book, both she and Mary Matlin wre being torn by the demands of their children. I don't know why Mary made her decision, but Karen prayed about it, asked God what was most important for her to do, and talked with several advisors, including her pastor.

"McClellan sucks."

Of course he does, but he's the son of a prominent (and oft-married) Texas politician, Comptroller (and former mayoress of Austin) Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn.

What Mrs. Strayhorn has on Bush is anyone's guess, but since she's about 4'-11 and ugly as homemade sin, at least it can't be about sex.
