ST. LOUIS, Missouri (AP) -- Authorities are searching for a pack of highway stunt motorcyclists blamed for a wreck that seriously hurt five people in a sport utility vehicle.
A handful of motorcyclists were on Highway 364 Saturday when they changed lanes and cut off a Ford Explorer, forcing that vehicle to swerve to the right and hit a Chevrolet Suburban.
The Suburban tumbled down an embankment, ejecting most of its eight occupants. Five people in that vehicle were seriously injured; the other three sustained lesser harm. Only one was wearing a seat belt.
[snip]
By some accounts, a chase vehicle was filming the motorcyclists.
Witnesses said the motorcyclists were "riding wheelies, showing off, doing stunts," with another vehicle following them, Patrol Cpl. Jeff Myers said. He called the antics "total disregard for the safety of others."

Uh...yeah...right....whatever...
Oh they're amazingly fast. I don't think the average joe/jane realizes just how much speed is available for cheap in the motorcycle world. $15,000 with very minor mods to defeat electronic limiters will give you speeds over 200mph. It's insane.
You are the one suggesting people should watch 'Biker Boyz' as a primer on the behavior of people who ride sportbikes and then you expect to be taken seriously?
I was being generous. Biker Boyz went out of its way to make squids look good. The reality is that squids are much more reckless than depicted in the movie. The movie always had them drag racing away from the rest of civilization. The reality is that packs of squids fly down highways leaning in and out of corners at insane speeds with absolutely no regard for anyone else.
Care to name a stock bike that can do over 200mph? Even a hayabusa without a limiter has a hard time getting into the mid 190s.
Maybe I'm just ornery but I would had a lawyer bring him up on personal defamation charges. Let him see what it's like to be the defendant who has to pay costs.
Yes, like taking a blackbird racing on a dirt road? Laugh.

What is wrong with taking twisties fast? Jealous because you can't do it without scraping half your bike away?
In all fairness, I've seen plenty of people on four wheels drive at break-neck speeds with little or no regard for anyone else on the road. Shoot, I had a guy in a Lincoln LS play road warrior the other day. I had to brake hard to avoid contact with this guy who cut me off coming into my lane, so I beeped my horn at him. Since I had the temerity of signalling my horn at him, obviously I deserve the bird and to be run off the road. Do I paint all automobile drivers as reckless? No, of course not. Just because someone's wearing leather, a bandana, and a hog doesn't exempt them from stupidity, either. As an aside, I didn't see Biker Boys. The trailer showed them racing street bikes on gravel. LOL It's a rum old world when you meet the nicest people on a Harley and the Honda riders are the hooligans. ;)
We're degrading into total stupidity now. Tell you what, I'll give you credit that if you wanted a Harley, you would buy one, because I know damned well that if I wanted a squid bike, I could easily afford one.
ROFL
He rides a Harley, there will be no common ground with him. Give it up.
And to the other poster, I have a Triumph TT600 very fast, very light and I can't get over 160
You're going to quibble over a few miles per hour? Mid 190's is way too close to 200 for my taste. Fine, I'll revise my statement to say that for under $15,000 with very minor mods to defeat electronic limiters you can have a bike that approach speeds of 200mph. It's insane.
And to the other poster, I have a Triumph TT600 very fast, very light and I can't get over 160
How reliable has your Triumph been? I'm leaning strongly towards buying a Triumph America for my second bike, but I'm still a little shakey on Triumph's dealer network.
Idiots are everywhere.
What I think is really funny is in your zeal to hate anything with plastic on it, you do not realize to someone in a cage we are all the same. They do not care if a bike has plastic on it, chrome, loud pipes, quiet pipes, neon lights, mickey mouse airbrushed on the side, or anything else. They see us all the same and any legislation or laws passed against motorcycles influences us all.
You make the same mistake shotgunners make when it comes to gun control legislation. They are not against it because they have no use for those 'ugly guns'. You are no different.
I don't care what someone rides. My friends have Harleys (with open pipes), BMWs, Suzukis, Yamahas, Triumphs and some exotics. We give each other a hard time but we realize we are all in it together and in the end respect each other. When I pass another bike, I wave. I don't care what style or make it is. You might want to try it someday. You might even learn something from those guys you despise.
SQUID! :)
My bike maxes out around 155 so at least you are faster than me.
I was in the Navy also, does that make me a double squid?
How about a swabbie squid?
"They have caused more than one accident as the result of some driver changing lanes and not seeing the idiots,"
You don`t have to be an idiot for someone to change lanes into you on a motorcycle. Sometimes, its the idiot in the car that is the problem, not the person on the motorcycle. Some motorcyclist actually obey the law and are very safe on the road.
I agree with you on these "stunt bike" riders being morons though. I like putting my signal on when I see them coming up on me. That usually gets a quick hand on the brake from them.
You know what, you're right. I let my feelings get the better of me. I apologize.
