I dont think any of know how we would handle the loss of a child. Having your sons and/or daughters serving in a war zone is stressful enough. Most of deal with it by surrounding ourselves with others who are in the same position and will support us emotionally day and night. That is not always an easy thing to do,but most of us handle it rationally.

There was a time when I "lost it" at the news of the death of my brother. Until then, I thought I could handle anything. I understand this guy's reaction. You get irrational when you suffer a loss like this guy did. That he loved his son that much is on the other side of the scale of justice, I think.
