I don't get the hair. I thought military had to have military haircuts.
I don't know the answer to that
I have a brother that joined the Marines back in 72 and all the years he was in .. the top of his hair was never that long
I don't know about other branches of the service,
but the Navy allowed them to have longer hair at
that time. I don't know if it was because it was
fashionable, or because it kept them from sticking
out like a sore thumb when around people who were
so anti-war, and anti-military, that their safety
was in doubt.
However, men's hair was so long in
those days that they STILL stuck out
like sore thumbs.
